ROCK-A-THON FOR PATRICK
On February 20th, Mr. Gallant’s grade 4 class will be participating in a Rock-a-thon in the Queen Elizabeth School gymnasium. The students will rock on rocking chairs for a total of ten consecutive hours (from 2:00 pm to 12:00 am). All funds raised through sponsors will be immediately donated to the family of Patrick McKay, a five-year-old boy from Salisbury who suffers from a very rare genetic mutation that has caused epilepsy and hypotonia or low muscle tone. He is one of only nine people in the world who suffers from this particular condition. The family makes regular trips to the IWK Hospital and they are also in need of a ramp to accommodate Patrick’s wheelchair. The class is very eager to make a significant monetary contribution to help his family with some of their immediate needs. The Grade 8’s will be selling CANDYGRAMS for Valentine’s Day again this year! This fundraiser is to support the Grade 8’s end of year graduation activities.
The sale will begin on Thursday, February 5th and continue until Wednesday, February 11th. Items will be for sale during lunch time between 11:50 and 12:35pm (Thursday 5th, Friday 6th, Monday 9th , Tuesday 10th , and Wednesday 11th).
All CANDYGRAMS purchased will be kept and then delivered to the recipients on Thursday, February 12th as there is PL day on Friday, February 13th.
A menu of items will be sent home by email and posted in classrooms beforehand for you to shop.
